While current versions of OWL programs are all compatible with Windows Vista, you may experience problems when trying to access the help system within some of the programs. Microsoft has made a free download available for those who are experiencing this problem. Go to Download WinHlp32 for Vista and follow the instructions to correct this problem.
When I try to install your software I get the following message: "C:\Windows\system32\autoexec.nt. The system file is not suitable for running MS-Dos and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application."
This is caused by a missing or corrupt Windows file. One resolution to this problem is to reinstall the missing file from your original Windows CD. Instructions for doing this are available on the Microsoft support web site at: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;324767
The other resolution is to download a current setup file from our archive. Setup procedures for our latest release have been revised so they no longer require the support file that is missing from many windows installations.
This error occurs when running 32 bit OWL Applications when a printer has not been installed on the system. To correct the error, install a printer (or at least install a windows printer driver) on the system. It is not necessary for a printer to be physically connected to the computer to run the OWL Application.
Double clicking on individual files created during a backup data operation will normally result in your system responding with an indication that it does not know which program to use to open the files. This is normal.
Backup files are not intended to be opened individually and doing so can damage the file structure. The only intended use for a backup data set is to restore data should you have a failure or need to move data to a new computer.
